Dear Parents,

We hope that you have all had a good summer half term and we look forward to seeing and welcoming new and returning children and families. Let me give you a little bit of background information about Kiddiecare Nurseries. We have been running nurseries for 14 years with our first nursery opening in Hayes in September 2005. Our Ashdown branch is one of 8 nurseries, all located across the Hillingdon and Ealing boroughs.

Within the nursery we have a parent’s notice board, this will give you information about some of our policies and procedures, the rest of the policies are available for you to read at any time, just ask a member of staff. On this notice board you will also find important dates including when the nursery is closed for the holidays etc. You will also find the staff details on the office door, giving you a photo and name of the staff.

Text service
This is a service that will inform parents/carers of any upcoming events such as half terms and will send a text as a reminder to you.

Karina Maternity leave
We would like to welcome Karina back from maternity leave and hope she will settle back in to her role as deputy manage smoothly.

Our Cook
Over the summer we are sad to say that our cook Princy has decided to pursue a new career and we would like to wish her all the best in the future.

Laura maternity leave
With in the next 13 weeks Laura will be going maternity leave and we hope you can join me in wishing her all the best, we look forward to hearing the joyful news that Laura’s new family addition has arrived.

Stay and Play Session
The last Friday of every month is bring a friend to nursery, you have to inform us in advance if you are coming and you and the child’s parent must stay with the children in the nursery. We like to continuously involve all parents in every step of the way to developing their child’s learning. We would like to invite parents/carers to our play sessions on the last Friday of the month. if you would like to read a story with the children, do a cooking activity or help us celebrate any festivals please feel free to come and do this. Speak with myself and I will be happy to arrange this.

Lunches
You have a choice of providing your own packed lunch or purchasing the nursery meal. The cost of the nursery lunch is £1.50 for lunch and £1 for tea, if your child is in nursery all day you can pay £2 for both nursery meals. All our nursery meals are vegetarian and cooked freshly on the premises. The payments are due in advance which will be given in 6 week intervals. This payment for lunches/teas should be paid at the first session of the week if you wish to pay weekly. And at the start of the half term if you are paying 6 weekly. Please see myself to pay this and you will need to provide us with 2 weeks-notice to change between the two options. If you wish to bring a packed lunch for your child please see me for the guidance.

30 Hours free childcare
30 hours of free childcare to working parents. All 3 or 4-year olds can receive 15 hours of free childcare from the term after their third birthday, this can be extended to 30 hours for families where both parents are in work, each earning more than £120 per week but no more than £100,000 in a year.

In order to check if you are eligible please visit childcarechoices.gov.uk, you will be required to register your details and they will be able to tell you if you are eligible. Once they have confirmed eligibility they will give you a code. Bring this code into us and we can get you started. You will need to check your eligibility every three months as you can lose the additional hours if your circumstances change. The closing date to register for the January term is 31st December, you must receive your code before this date.

Tax-free childcare
To apply for tax-free childcare, you will need to go to childcarechoices.gov.uk and set up an account. For every 80p you pay in for your childcare the government will top up an extra 20p. Therefore, the government is topping up 20% of your childcare costs. The scheme is running for children under the age of 12 years. To qualify, parents will have to be in work, and each earning at least £120 a week and not more than £100,000 per year. Once you have registered you can search for our nursery and payments can then be made. It also gives you flexibility to pay more in when you are able to build up a balance.

Parent’s meetings:

Parents meetings at the end of the autumn term will be on the 9th December 2018, you will be given a time to come in and speak with your child’s key person. This is the opportunity for you to come in, look at your child’s report and talk to the Key-person about their progress. This will be a non funded session. Your child’s profile is also available for you to view at all times on Tapestry. if you are having difficulty logging into this please speak with Marie who will happily help you. If the date is not suitable for you, please speak to your child’s key-person to re-arrange for a suitable day.

Macmillan Coffee Morning:
We are holding a Macmillan coffee party on Friday 28th September to raise awareness and money for cancer research. Please come along with friends, family, neighbours to have a tea, coffee and cake and Meet other parents. Feel free to bring along some cakes, either by purchasing or making your own. We will be holding two sessions throughout the day, 10am till 11am and 1.30pm till 2.30pm. And the children will be making cakes throughout the week for you to purchase. Last year we raised an amazing £140 with only a few children. Let’s see if we can at least meet the same target as last year.

Change in weather
This year we are due to have a mild winter however we do still ask parents/corers to provide suitable clothing for the children as we enjoy taking the children out in to the garden to explore and learn.

Late collection fees
May I remind everyone about late collection charges, if you are going be late picking up your child please ring 01895 230975 and let us know so we are able to arrange staff cover. The late charge is £10.00 for every fifteen minutes (or part of) which is payable on the day.

Pick up times
We ask all parents and cares be at the nursery 15 minutes before their child’s session finishes this gives us time to give you all feed back and answer any questions you may have.
